Betrayed love told in enamelled miniatures. In this collection Giuliana shows her quality as a miniaturist and model maker. The enamel coloring is entrusted to the Sicilian painter Alfonso Baja who, with wisdom, gives each jewel its own personality.
The popular myth tells that in the XI century, in Palermo in the district ‘Al Hàlisah (now known as Kalsa) lived a beautiful young girl with very white skin who loved to take care of the plants and flowers that grew on her balcony. The girl was noticed by a Moorish soldier who fell in love with her and immediately returned her love. But when the Moor decided to return to Africa to his wife, the young woman changed her feelings: love gave way to hatred. At night she stole the sword of the Moor, cut off his head and kept it on her balcony as a vase.
